Weddings in Poland and Italy
Every wedding has its own story. Here I tell a few of them, from beginning to end.

Convento San Panfilo · Spoltore
Kinga & Mateusz
Kinga and Mateusz started celebrating the day before the wedding, with a pizza party for those closest to them in Spoltore, Abruzzo. The next day there was a first look in the garden of Convento San Panfilo, and in the evening a candlelit dinner in the cloisters.

Fattoria Mansi Bernardini · Tuscany
Marysia & Maciej
June and heat at Fattoria Mansi Bernardini in Tuscany. Marysia and Maciej wanted a simple, intimate wedding, so we set up the ceremony at 17:00 among the olive trees. No decorations, just a white cloth on one of the branches and a violin.

Podere l'Aione · Tuscany
Klaudia & Sławek
September in Tuscany. Sławek began the day with coffee on the terrace, then came a first look with a view of the hills. The civil ceremony took place at sunset, with a violin, followed by an aperitivo by the orange truck. Klaudia and Sławek planned everything with their wedding planner Dominika, and I did not direct any of it.

Masseria Mavùgliola · Puglia
Silvia & Marco
This is a styled wedding: a whole day, from getting ready to the last dance, planned just for the camera. I photographed it at Masseria Mavùgliola in Apulia, a red-and-white villa among olive trees and palms.

Lipowy Dwór · Wieluń
Julia & Rafał
Julia's gown waited in the wardrobe for five years, because the pandemic moved the date twice. The wedding finally took place in the open-air church at Lipowy Dwór in Wieluń. Rain cut the Mass short, and then came coloured flares and golden hour under a pergola.

Questions about wedding coverage that come up after reading the stories.
Does a wedding in Italy look the same as one in Poland?
No. The aperitivo, dinner and party often happen in separate places, so the day changes location several times. It is more of a celebration than a wild party.
When does the couple's portrait session happen at an Italian wedding?
During the aperitivo, at sunset.
What happens after the ceremony at an Italian wedding?
After the ceremony the guests move to the aperitivo, and during it or just after it I take the couple for a short portrait session. At Kinga and Mateusz's wedding at Convento San Panfilo in Spoltore the aperitivo in the garden lasted about an hour, and at Klaudia and Sławek's in Tuscany the guests gathered at an orange truck.
